Aside from healthy diet and active lifestyle, exercise is also a natural way of slowing down aging. An anti aging exercise program focuses on strengthening parts of our bodies that weaken as we grow old.
Below are some of the exercises that are beneficial to those who want to stay in good shape:
- Cardiovascular exercises focuses on making our hearts and lungs stronger. As we grow old, these weaken from diseases and medications, food we take, and environmental factors. 30 minutes a day is enough to regain the healthy function of these little by little.
- Strength training will help you keep your muscles at their top shape. Aside from keeping yourself strong, these exercises also help maintain bone density, and increase metabolism. The usual recommendation of professionals is to do these exercises two to three times a week.
- Flexibility exercises allow us become less prone to injuries. The most common type of flexibility exercises is stretching. It can be done at home. While a lot of people overlook the importance of stretching exercises, it is critical as we age as it will help us retain movement in our joints and also aid in balance.
- Mind exercises focus on relaxing the minds. Some types of mind exercises include meditation, tai chi, and yoga. Most types of mind/body exercises are beneficial to our physical and emotional health condition.
